Financial Controller

Our key client, a major player in the UK renewables and manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their finance team in Lochaber.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of financial reporting, cash management, budgeting and forecasting within a complex industrial environment. The business is looking for the right long-term fit and is open to considering candidates with the experience and ambition to take on broader responsibilities as the finance function continues to evolve.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will lead the transactional finance team whilst ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective financial planning across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the finance team.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and business reporting.
- Managing cash flow forecasting and daily cash requirements.
- Coordinating budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Preparing statutory accounts and supporting external audits.
- Developing management information and financial reporting to support business decision-making.
- Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and controls.
- Building strong relationships with operational leaders and key stakeholders.

About You
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be ACCA, CIMA or CA qualified.
- Have experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance position.
- Possess strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Have advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- Be proactive, commercially aware and focused on continuous improvement.
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP system would be advantageous.
