Location: London, 4x per week

SRM Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading financial services business to recruit a Financial Controller into its Finance team.

This is a senior role with responsibility for financial control, statutory reporting, treasury, tax, regulatory capital, and audit across the UK group. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, external advisers, and the wider Finance function, providing strong technical expertise and commercial insight.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the financial control and month-end reporting process across the Group.
  • Overseeing consolidated and statutory financial reporting, including UK and Irish funds.
  • Managing the annual and interim external audit process and ensuring audit recommendations are addressed.
  • Providing technical accounting guidance across IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Overseeing corporate treasury, cash management, deposits, and inter-company financing.
  • Monitoring regulatory capital and liquidity requirements, including ICARA modelling and stress testing.
  • Managing corporate tax compliance, tax reserves, and transfer pricing requirements.
  • Supporting Board and Committee reporting, including financial statements and dividend recommendations.
  • Driving improvements to accounting systems, controls, and Finance processes.
  • Working collaboratively with FP&A and senior management to support effective business decision-making.

We are looking for a qualified accountant and current ICAEW member with a strong technical accounting background and relevant experience within a financial services environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • A background in audit and financial control.
  • Experience across treasury, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and regulatory requirements.
