The Client
We are partnering with an award-winning creative production business that sits behind some of the best-known names in TV, film, and advertising. Recent work has picked up recognition at some of the industry's biggest awards ceremonies, including the Emmys.
The Finance Director of this business is looking for an ambitious, high-calibre Financial Controller, with succession planning in mind. The finance team consists of 4 professionals, with excellent tenures in the business who operate as a close-knit team.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a hands-on Financial Controller hire taking full ownership of day-to-day finance. Leadership is entrepreneurial, numbers-led, and profitability-focused, so you will need to be adaptable, comfortable turning around reports at short notice, and confident enough to question numbers and push back where needed.
There is already a solid foundation of cash flow forecasting and tracking of project profitability, so there is a genuine platform to build on rather than a blank page. The Finance Director is looking for an ambitious individual who is keen to develop their commercial finance skills and manage the team over time.

Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day finance, keeping the books clean, audit-ready, and efficient
- Build and own a rolling cash flow forecasting model that gives the business real visibility, not just a two-week snapshot
- Get hands-on with costing and profit margins inside the production booking system, and improve how it is used
- Turn around financial reports at short notice for a fast-moving, numbers-led leadership team, including monthly management account meetings
- Lead the year-end audit and own the external auditor relationship
- Own payroll and manage a small finance team
- Partner with HR, tech, operations, and production on financial matters
- Challenge and push back on decisions where the numbers warrant it

Essential Experience
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- Experience in a fee-for-time business (agency, professional services, media, or production), comfortable with project or job costing
- Strong technically, confident with financial planning
- Commercial and technical, comfortable getting hands-on within a booking or costing system
- A confident communicator who will question and push back rather than simply execute
Desirable Experience
- Trained within a top-10 accountancy firm before moving into industry
Package
- Salary: £75,000-£80,000
- Location: Central London; hybrid, 2-3 days in office ideal
- Start Date: ASAP (ideally 1-2 months' notice)
