The KENJI brand has significant growth plans, both domestically and throughout Europe, encompassing wholesale and retail distribution coupled with expansion of its retail store base.
As the most senior finance professional within the business, you will be a trusted advisor to a highly experienced senior leadership team, providing robust and timely commercial insight and financial control across their multi-site operation.
KENJI comprises of a Warrington based Head Office and stores throughout the UK, with a design studio, international supply chain and manufacturing and sourcing partners across the Far East. You will be a hands-on finance leader who thrives in this complexity and combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen, operational awareness and the ability to proactively support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
- Manage cash flow and working capital
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide meaningful analysis to support business performance and growth initiatives
- Lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of performance and continuous improvement
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and board reporting packs
- Manage budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes
- Oversee cash flow, working capital and treasury management
- Maintain robust financial controls, processes and governance across the business
- Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability and performance
- Manage year-end accounts, audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting
- Monitor stock, inventory valuation and supply chain financial performance
- Provide commercial analysis and recommendations to the Managing Director, SLT and owners
- Support strategic projects, investment decisions and business growth initiatives
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, insurers and external advisers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, tax and regulatory requirements

Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven leadership experience, ideally with exposure to an SME or owner-managed business
- A stock, wholesale or retail background would be advantageous, as would prior experience of Netsuite
- Strong commercial and operational finance capability
- Confident communicator, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and business owners
