Why be a Financial Controller - Beauty Stock at THG?

As part of the Beauty Stock Finance Team, you will work to help the business through the monthly and yearly reporting cycle, ensuring robust financial control along the way.

As Financial Controller - Beauty Stock, you’ll:

  • Lead and mentor 3-4 direct reports by providing clear objectives and incentives to ensure high levels of performance and all deliverables are met.
  • Lead the preparation, review and reconciliation of inventory-related financial data, including stock valuations, provisions, write-offs and other inventory adjustments.
  • Take ownership of inventory-related month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring balances are accurate, complete and reported in line with agreed timelines and accounting requirements.
  • Lead monthly balance sheet review meeting and ensure that HOF and FD are advised of risk and opportunity.
  • Review and analyse aged, obsolete and expired stock, ensuring appropriate provisions are maintained and key risks, trends and opportunities are clearly communicated to management.
  • Lead the provision of inventory-related information and supporting documentation for internal and external audits, acting as a key point of contact for inventory finance queries.
  • Develop and review financial reporting, analysis and dashboards to provide clear insight into stock performance, variances, trends and key risks.
  • Act as a key finance business partner for inventory-related matters, providing insight and challenge to support decision-making and protect the accuracy of inventory and the P&L.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA)
  • Experience in leading and developing Finance teams.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to effectively summarise and interpret data for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven record of delivering against targets and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to form relationships with key stakeholders.
