Financial Controller | Manufacturing | Falkirk | Competitive salary, plus bonus and benefits

Zachary Daniels Finance is partnering with an established and successful manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a business with a strong market position, an established operation and an ambitious leadership team focused on driving performance and developing the business for the future.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll take responsibility for the finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting and meaningful financial insight across the business.

Importantly, this isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk producing reports. We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the wider business, building relationships with operational teams and using financial information to influence decisions and improve performance.

The Role

  • Lead, develop and support an established finance team, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Take ownership of monthly management accounts, financial reporting, balance sheet integrity and internal controls.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, providing clear insight into business performance.
  • Oversee manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, inventory, production variances and product profitability.
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams to understand performance, challenge costs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support effective cash management, working capital control and financial governance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in line with group requirements and relevant accounting standards.
  • Partner with the Finance Director on financial improvements, business initiatives and longer-term planning.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
