Finance Controller (based in Cape Verdi)
For a commercial hospitality business seeking a hands-on, experienced financial controller to support their UK Group Finance Director (GFD). You will have a strong technical skillset as well as a natural ability for commercial focus, comprehensive reporting, and staff management.
The Financial Controller will be a strategic partner to the GFD, providing financial guidance and driving the business's financial planning and cash management.
Requirements:
- Qualified ACA or ACCA or similar with 2 to 3 years’ post qualification experience looking to obtain expat experience on their CV.
- Must hold a UK Passport to enable the visa application process in Cape Verdi and a UK accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- The role ideally requires a prompt start, so candidates must be unencumbered to make the move to the island.

What you’ll be doing:
- Manage a team of approximately 20 people based on location to ensure efficient reporting of daily information.
- Provide information on daily cash flow from the island to the HQ.
- Manage the invoice processing system reporting to HQ Finance Team.
- Ensure weekly and monthly financial information is provided timely and accurately to the HQ Finance Team.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for review.
- Be an active participant in strategic business meetings.
- Travel to HQ office as and when required, maybe on a quarterly basis.
- Ensure the management reporting team maintains the highest standard financial records and reporting standards locally.

Key Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar UK qualification is essential.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a finance manager type role.
- Hold a UK Passport to enable visa application in Cape Verdi.
- Strong financial reporting skills.
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
- Demonstrable skills using accounting softwares like SAP, Oracle or Sage Line 200.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Highly adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proactive approach to financial team management.
- Confidence to work closely with business owners, Directors, and senior leadership teams.
