Financial Controller | International FMCG & Consumer Products Business | London
We are partnering with a fast-growing international FMCG and consumer products business with operations across Europe, North America and Asia. Operating across wholesale, retail and e-commerce channels, the company manages a complex global supply chain and is continuing to invest in its finance function to support ambitious growth plans.
Reporting to the Global Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of financial accounting, controls, compliance and reporting across a multi-entity international group. This is a highly visible role offering significant scope to influence processes, controls and systems within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities across multiple international entities.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain strong controls across inventory, AP, AR, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and intercompany transactions.
- Improve accounting processes and enhance the efficiency of the close cycle.
- Support management reporting by delivering accurate and reliable financial information.
Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Develop and maintain a robust financial control framework.
- Strengthen internal controls and improve finance processes across the organisation.
- Manage compliance calendars covering statutory, tax and regulatory obligations.
- Support the continued evolution of governance and financial best practice.

Tax & Audit
- Coordinate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage VAT, GST and indirect tax requirements.
- Lead the annual audit process and act as the main point of contact for external auditors.
- Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and audit documentation.
Treasury & Cash Flow
- Own and enhance the rolling 12-week cash flow forecast.
- Monitor liquidity, working capital and banking relationships.
- Analyse cash flow performance and support strategic decision making.
Leadership & Business Partnering
- Manage and develop an Assistant Accountant.
- Work closely with commercial finance and operational teams across the business.
- Partner with external advisers, payroll providers, auditors and financial institutions.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive automation and process efficiencies across finance.
- Improve financial data quality and ERP utilisation.
- Develop finance procedures and scalable controls to support international growth.
About You
We're looking for a qualified accountant who combines technical excellence with a pragmatic and hands-on approach.
You'll likely bring:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience
- Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes
- Multi-entity and international accounting experience
- Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and audit
- Experience managing cash flow, treasury and working capital
- Track record of improving systems, processes and controls
- Strong ERP and advanced Excel skills
Highly Desirable
- Experience within FMCG, consumer products, retail, wholesale or e-commerce environments
- Experience operating in fast-growth or PE-backed businesses
- Exposure to international supply chain operations
- Odoo or similar ERP experience
- Additional European language skills would be advantageous.
