Financial Controller - Manufacturing

As the Financial Controller in the manufacturing sector, based in Peterborough, you'll oversee the financial operations, ensuring the business runs efficiently and profitably. This role plays a key part in driving financial strategy and providing insights that support decision-making.

Our client is an established manufacturing business based in Peterborough, known for delivering high-quality products and maintaining high operational standards. They pride themselves on fostering a positive team culture and providing opportunities for growth and development.

Description

  • Leading and developing the in-house finance team, while managing the relationship with the outsourced accounting provider.
  • Overseeing the preparation and quality of management and statutory accounts, VAT and payroll.
  • Acting as a strategic finance partner to the senior management team and wider business.
  • Providing financial insight and analysis to support commercial and operational decisions.
  • Improving financial processes and controls to support a scaling manufacturing business.
  • Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Overseeing IT systems and infrastructure, including managing any external IT support providers.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value across departments, from production to commercial functions.

Profile

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in financial management within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
