Financial Controller Irbis Vektra Group · UK Operations
Reports to: Group Chief Financial Officer
Location: UK, hybrid — office attendance combined with home working. Some travel to other Group entities may be required.
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Circa £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
About the Company
Irbis Vektra is a European investment and operating group specialising in industrial logistics and supply chain. The thesis: owning the operations of asset-backed businesses delivers higher returns at lower risk than owning the assets alone. The Group applies this discipline across a portfolio of operating entities in multiple jurisdictions. The finance function sits at the centre of that discipline. It is run to a Swiss standard — precise, evidenced, and current — across every entity in the Group.
The Role
The Financial Controller supports the Group CFO with the day-to-day operation of the finance function across the Group's entities and jurisdictions. The role is hands on: it combines bookkeeping and transactional control with the accounting discipline needed to keep multiple entities current, reconciled, and audit-ready. This is a Group-wide role. The successful candidate will work across entities with different currencies, reporting requirements, and local obligations, and will be a primary point of contact for day-to-day finance matters in the UK operation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For
- Qualified accountant — ACCA, CIMA, or ACA (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a controller, senior finance, or multi-entity bookkeeping role, ideally spanning more than one jurisdiction or currency.
- Strong working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Comfortable working across entities with different reporting requirements and no single house style to fall back on.
- Confident with accounting software and payment platforms; able to set up and improve processes, not just follow them.
- Precise and evidence-led — comfortable being asked to show the numbers behind a figure, not just state it.
- Able to work independently, prioritise across several entities at once, and flag issues to the Group CFO before they become problems.
