Are you an ambitious, technically strong accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career? Would you like to take ownership of the day-to-day finances of a thriving software company, and play a key role in its continued growth and yours too?

About the company

Traveltek is an established and highly successful travel technology business providing search, booking and administration platforms to travel agents and tour operators globally. It has been one of the biggest stories in the UK travel sector over the past five years. An established, loss-making company was transformed through significant product development and substantial investments in customer service. This saw its profits grow exponentially, leading to its acquisition by the Juniper Group in 2024. Since the acquisition, Traveltek has continued to grow by maintaining its autonomy, while leveraging the expertise, resources and scale of a global software group.

About the job

As a qualified accountant, you’ll be at the stage of your career where you want to move beyond a purely technical finance role. In this position, you will have overall responsibility for the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of Traveltek's financial information. You will lead the month-end process, produce and review full management accounts, take ownership of the P&L and balance sheet, and support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning. You'll also oversee tax and reporting requirements, while ensuring robust financial controls and governance are maintained.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Alongside the technical responsibilities, you will take a broader view of the business. It’s not just about producing the numbers. We’re looking for someone who wants to understand what drives the business, challenge performance, identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency, and contribute to strategic decision-making. You’ll also work closely with the FD, contributing to group reporting and consolidation requirements.

You will manage and develop a team of three, creating a high-performing finance function that provides both strong financial control and meaningful business insight. You'll also be someone who looks for ways to improve processes, strengthen controls and make the finance function more efficient, rather than simply maintaining the status quo.

Why you should apply

You are likely to be someone who is already operating as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior Management Accountant and is looking for a role that offers greater responsibility, visibility and progression. You will have a strong grounding in financial control, compliance and governance, with experience of audit, statutory reporting and working within formal control frameworks. A background in a PLC, larger corporate or group environment would be particularly advantageous. Experience within technology, software or SaaS would be useful but is not essential.

Importantly, this is a role with genuine progression potential. As mentioned above, Traveltek retains the agility and autonomy of a smaller technology company while having access to the resources, experience and wider network of a much larger international software organisation. For the right person, this creates an unusual combination: the visibility and influence of a senior finance role in a relatively small business, combined with the governance, scale and development opportunities of a much larger group. This is a job designed for someone who wants to build a career, not simply take a position. With the right performance and development, you have the potential to grow significantly within Traveltek and the Group.

The business operates a hybrid working model with a requirement of three days in the office. That office is based in Queen Street, Glasgow, so you couldn’t get more central. The salary is competitive for this market, with a 3% employer pension contribution, Mintago membership for pension support, a healthcare plan, life assurance, and a Perkbox subscription. Annual leave is a very generous 33 days including bank holidays, which will grow to 36.

If this is a role where you believe you can make a genuine commercial impact today and build towards a future within Traveltek and the wider Group, click apply.
