About the Role
This is a key hire for the business. Reporting directly to the CFO and Managing Director, the Financial Controller sits on the firm's executive committee and plays an active role in the day-to-day management of the company. This is a role for a genuine free thinker — someone comfortable managing a team, external providers, and a range of internal stakeholders, with real autonomy to shape how the finance function operates.

Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day ownership of the accounting records
- Understand and own the month-end close process
- Own the year-end close process and manage the statutory audit
- Understand and monitor the cashflow position
- Stay laser-focused on controls
- Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting
- Prepare annual financial statements
- Ensure accurate tax compliance (VAT / CT / PSA, etc.)
- Manage key relationships, including the CFO, MD, shareholders, and outsourced providers
- Own the financial operations
- Participate in the management of the company through the executive committee (EXCO)
- Manage the finance team
Skills & Experience
- Professional accounting qualification
- Strong control focus
- Excellent communicator
- Proficient in Excel, including modelling
- Experience using Xero and its associated app stack
- Clear initiative and ability to problem-solve
- Proactive, with the ability to drive an agenda
- Resilience and ability to prioritize with a long-term outlook
- Good accounting and tax knowledge
