Financial Controller

London | Reporting to the Group Financial Controller

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with 1-3 years' post-qualification experience to join a fast-paced, international business at the heart of its finance function, with genuine opportunity to develop and progress.

The role has arisen due to an internal promotion and offers an ambitious individual the chance to take ownership of two central components of the Group's finance function, while becoming a valued business partner to the wider organisation.

Key components of the role:

  • Financial Controller responsible for the Group's main trading entity
  • Owning the cash flow forecast and liquidity planning
  • Wider responsibilities including business partnering, developing colleagues, and driving process and systems improvement

Key Responsibilities

You'll take financial ownership of a key trading business, including:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts for allocated entities
  • Preparing monthly P&L accounts and detailed run-rate analysis
  • Reviewing, understanding and approving purchasing requests
  • Approving entity costs and payments
  • Maintaining fixed asset and lease registers
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations and month-end journal entries (prepayments, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany, FX gains/losses, central recharges)
  • Owning statutory reporting and compliance for allocated entities, liaising directly with auditors

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
