Financial Controller – 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
c.£85,000 - £95,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Sphere Group has been retained by a large international group in the digital services sector to recruit a hands-on Financial Controller to support the organisation through a period of significant transformation. This is a 6-month fixed term contract.
The organisation is seeking to appoint a qualified accountant and experienced Financial Controller with extensive experience across financial reporting and control, team leadership, and finance transformation. This role will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of a prominent business unit’s finance department.
The Financial Controller will act as a key business partner to the International Finance Director and senior leadership team. The role will ensure the organisation maintains a high standard of financial integrity, compliance, and control, while providing financial insights to support operational decision making.

Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the financial control environment, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the organisation's financial records.
- Lead the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, providing clear analysis of actual performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
- Provide insightful commentary on financial performance, identifying key risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate financial planning across multiple departments and cost centres.
- Lead the continuous improvement of finance processes, systems and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline transactional and reporting activities.

The Candidate
The International Finance Director requires an accomplished Financial Controller with extensive experience in a senior financial control role, ideally within a large and complex organisation.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record of leading finance teams, overhauling processes and controls, optimising finance systems, and acting as a strategic business partner to operational leadership.
