Financial Controller

London | Hybrid Working | Up to £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits

A growing healthcare product distribution business is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to take ownership of financial reporting, controls, cash flow management, and audit activities across the organisation. Working closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, this role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to influence decision-making across both finance and operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, enhancing reporting processes, and delivering high-quality financial insights to support continued growth.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical expertise with a commercial mindset. You'll be equally comfortable getting into the detail, improving processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to drive performance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Owning the monthly close cycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting.
  • Leading the production of management accounts and delivering insightful performance analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Taking responsibility for group cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital reporting.
  • Managing the annual external audit process from planning through to completion.
  • Coordinating statutory reporting requirements and year-end deliverables.
  • Maintaining a strong financial control environment across the business.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and wider financial planning activities.
  • Partnering with operational and commercial leaders to improve decision-making and performance.
  • Overseeing inventory accounting, stock controls, and related reporting.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting quality.
  • Supporting the development of junior finance team members.

What We're Looking For

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Experience operating within a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or Finance Manager capacity.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial control background.
  • Demonstrable experience leading month-end reporting processes.
  • Proven ownership of audit and statutory accounts delivery.
  • Strong cash flow forecasting and working capital management expertise.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
