Finance Manager/Financial Controller
Vardey Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be supporting the recruitment of a qualified accountant to join a creative and fast-paced company who are experiencing strong growth located in the heart of Lymington, Hampshire. As the Finance Manager/Financial Controller, you will work directly with the CEO and support this ambitious, family-run business as it enters an exciting phase of expansion.
The Financial Manager/Financial Controller Job Role
This is a senior, hands-on role within a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will take full ownership of the finance function—combining strategic oversight with day-to-day involvement in the detail.
As a member of the Leadership Team, you’ll provide clear financial insight to support commercial decision-making, while taking responsibility for all things finance related to include cash flow management, management accounts, and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Management
- Lead the day-to-day finance function, including purchase ledger, cash control, and payroll.
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow).
- Ensure robust financial controls and accurate reporting.
Cashflow & Forecasting
- Own cash flow management and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor income and expenditure across multiple projects.
- Identify cash flow risks early and propose mitigating actions.
Project & Commercial Finance
- Work closely with Project Managers to track costs, revenues, and margins by project.
- Maintain accurate project tracking within the accounting system.
- Provide clear financial insight on project profitability.
- Challenge assumptions and highlight commercial risks and opportunities
