Financial Controller – ACA/ACCA/FCCA Qualified
£60,000 – £70,000 | Bilston | Permanent | On-site
Are you a fully qualified Financial Controller looking for a role where you can genuinely influence the direction of a business?
We're recruiting for an established business in Bilston that is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of its finance function and work closely with the senior leadership team.
This is a hands-on and commercially focused role. You'll be responsible for ensuring strong financial control and accurate reporting, while providing the insight, challenge and information needed to support business decisions.
There is also genuine scope for the successful individual to grow their responsibilities as the business develops.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the day-to-day finance function and managing the finance team
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts and reporting
- Managing budgeting, forecasting and cashflow
- Maintaining robust financial controls and processes
- Providing commercial analysis and meaningful financial insight
- Supporting senior management with operational and strategic decision-making
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and financial performance
- Working closely with colleagues across the wider business

What we're looking for
You must be fully qualified ACA, ACCA or FCCA to be considered for this position. Alongside your professional qualification, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a similarly broad senior finance role
- Strong management accounting and financial control experience
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- A commercial mindset with the ability to look beyond the numbers
- Previous experience leading or developing a finance team
- The confidence to challenge, influence and work closely with senior stakeholders
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the detail when required
- Experience within an SME, owner-managed or entrepreneurial environment would be particularly useful

Manufacturing, FMCG or product-based experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential. We're very happy to consider strong Financial Controllers from other commercial sectors who can demonstrate the breadth of experience required.
The opportunity

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
Location: Bilston, West Midlands
Working pattern: Full-time, on-site
