Mode Search are partnering with a fast-growing luxury fashion brand in the search for a Financial Controller to support the next stage of its international growth.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of the day-to-day financial control and reporting function within an entrepreneurial luxury business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key role across financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis, while helping to strengthen processes and controls as the business continues to scale.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the wider business, you will have genuine visibility across retail, e-commerce, wholesale, production and operations, providing financial insight that supports both day-to-day performance and longer-term decision making.
The Role
- Own the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, including management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Lead financial reporting and provide clear analysis of performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
- Support the CFO with annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario planning.
- Maintain a robust financial control environment across the business and its subsidiaries.
- Oversee statutory accounting, audit processes, VAT and other compliance requirements.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, accounts payable and receivable.
- Take ownership of inventory accounting, product costs and gross margin analysis.
- Manage intercompany accounting and support group reporting and consolidation.
- Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting processes and automation.
- Act as a key finance partner to Retail, E-commerce, Wholesale, Production, Merchandising and Operations.
- Provide commercial analysis and financial insight to support business decisions and investment opportunities.
- Support the development of a high-performing and commercially focused finance function.

Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Strong post-qualified experience across financial control, management accounting and reporting.
- Proven experience operating in an SME, entrepreneurial or high-growth environment.
- Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with month-end, reconciliations, cash flow and working capital.
- Experience with inventory accounting and multi-entity environments would be highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with excellent Excel skills.
- Comfortable working closely with senior non-finance stakeholders and translating financial data into actionable insight.
- Experience within luxury, fashion, retail, consumer or another multi-channel environment would be advantageous.
- Proactive, highly organised and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Location: Central London – 5 days per week in the office.
