A great business. A great culture. A bigger opportunity.
We’re exclusively supporting a successful, growing business in North Manchester with the appointment of a Financial Controller.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Finance Manager operating at a high level who is ready to take the next step in salary, responsibility, and influence within a business that has ambitious growth plans. This is not a purely strategic or Board-level role. It is a hands-on, operational FC position where you'll take ownership of the finance function, lead a small team, and play a key role in how the business operates and continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the finance team, creating a positive and accountable culture
- Own and produce accurate monthly management accounts and management information
- Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong controls and processes
- Present financial performance and insight to the Board
- Work closely with other senior managers across the business, understanding how decisions in finance impact operations and wider performance
- Immerse yourself in the business, understand how it works, and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement across the finance function
- Support wider strategic initiatives and acquisitions as required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
