Group Financial Controller
Hybrid, 3 days per week in office, Manchester
Permanent / Full Time
£90,000 - £110,000 per annum + Bonus + Benefits
We are working with a high-growth, international B2B SaaS business to recruit a Group Financial Controller at a pivotal stage in its private equity journey. Having recently secured investment from a highly regarded European private equity house with an exceptional track record of scaling recurring revenue software businesses through international expansion, operational improvement and strategic acquisitions, the business is entering an exciting new phase of growth.
Already profitable with an established global customer base, this is not a turnaround opportunity. Instead, the business has attracted institutional investment to accelerate an already successful platform.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will play a critical leadership role in building a best-in-class finance function capable of supporting continued international expansion. Alongside ownership of the Group's financial control environment, the role offers broad exposure to board and investor reporting, treasury, international operations, systems transformation and future M&A activity.
The timing makes this a particularly compelling opportunity. You'll join at the very beginning of the private equity journey, with the chance to shape how the finance function evolves, influence key strategic decisions and establish the foundations for long-term value creation.
Why Join?
Private Equity Investment & Growth Strategy
- Join a profitable, internationally recognised SaaS business at the beginning of an exciting private equity journey. Work alongside an experienced CFO and engaged investor to help deliver an ambitious value creation plan centred around operational excellence, international growth and strategic acquisitions.
Strategic Finance Leadership
- Become the CFO's number two, taking ownership of the Group's financial control environment whilst helping shape the future finance function. This is far more than a traditional reporting role, offering genuine strategic exposure and influence across the business.
Broad Leadership Role
- Lead every aspect of financial control across the Group, from consolidation, statutory reporting and treasury through to management accounting, AP, AR and financial governance. You'll be the technical expert within finance whilst remaining hands-on within a lean, high-performing team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
