Have you ever felt unsatisfied or stagnant whilst at work? Maybe, you get frustrated that you can see the opportunity to drive change and enhance process, but red tape or internal politics, prevent you doing so. Well that could all change…..
A rapidly expanding, acquisitive and innovative scale up operation are looking to hire a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. The Financial Controller will partner the CFO and owners to drive financial performance and strategic growth, whilst also taking a lead on the day to day finance and accounting tasks. With the 3 year plan that is currently in place, this is a role where the word ‘stagnant’ doesn’t exist, instead they have UK and International expansion plans and are seen as ‘the most exciting business within the sector, who will become a disruptor to current market brands’.
The Financial Controller position will be offered on a fully remote basis with dotted line responsibility to the owners in the US. This is not a position for someone who wants to stand still, this is a role for a growth focused, proven Financial Controller who is not afraid to be hands on and into the detail.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
