Interim Financial Controller (12-Month FTC)

£90,000 - £100,000 + Benefits

A growing and ambitious business based in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on improving finance processes, driving efficiencies, and maximising the benefits of a recently implemented ERP system.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll take ownership of the finance function while leading initiatives to streamline month-end reporting, automate manual processes, and enhance the quality and timeliness of management information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the month-end close process, improving speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting.
  • Optimise the use of the company's ERP system to deliver better financial insights and controls.
  • Produce high-quality management accounts and board-level reporting.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes, and governance across the business.
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to support informed decision-making.
  • Manage and develop the finance team throughout the contract period.

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven Financial Controller experience within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong track record of improving and automating finance processes.
  • Experience implementing, optimising, or embedding ERP systems.
  • Hands-on approach with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working on-site and driving change within an established team.
