Financial Controller | PE-Backed Consultancy | London

A genuinely exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a high-growth, PE-backed consultancy at a pivotal stage of its growth journey.

This is not a traditional Financial Controller role focused purely on reporting and month-end. You’ll sit at the heart of the business, partnering closely with the CFO, senior leadership team and PE investors, with genuine influence over how the finance function evolves. The business is an established, people-led consultancy with a strong market position, ambitious growth plans and the backing to continue scaling both organically and through acquisition.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of the core financial control environment while acting as a key commercial partner to the wider business.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the month-end close, management accounts and financial reporting
  • Owning the balance sheet, cash flow and working capital
  • Strengthening financial controls, processes and systems
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning
  • Working closely with the CFO on board and investor reporting
  • Providing insightful analysis around revenue, margins, utilisation and profitability
  • Supporting M&A, integration and wider transformation projects
  • Leading and developing a high-calibre finance team
  • Partnering with senior operational leaders across the consultancy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

More important than sector, we're looking for someone who is:

  • Commercially minded and confident with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong technically but equally strong commercially
  • Experienced in improving processes rather than simply operating them

Why Join?

This is a £100k–£120k Financial Controller opportunity with genuine progression potential. You'll have significant exposure to the CFO, CEO and investors and the opportunity to help shape the finance function as the business continues to scale.
