Financial Controller

Office Based - Head Office in outskirts of Brighton (BN1 8AP)
37.5 hours per week

Supplying cutting edge brands such as L’Oréal, Wella, Goldwell, Schwarzkopf, ColorWow, K18 and many more, makes us a one stop shop for the industry.

Role profile

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to join our senior management team at our head office. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will have overall responsibility for providing an efficient, effective and professional finance function to support the business needs of all internal and external customers of the Company.

In addition, you will be expected to manage and develop a support team of 7, covering sales & purchase ledger and other account functions, who report directly to the Financial Controller, so previous experience of managing a similar size team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a large finance team including accounts payable and credit control
  • Oversee all financial transactions across the company that operates in UK and Ireland
  • Commercially drive the budget and targeting setting process for the business
  • Manage and develop the accounts department and systems
  • Liaise with auditors in production of statutory accounts
  • Be responsible for the production of the VAT returns

To be successful in the role you will have: (all are essential)

  • A professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
  • An excellent knowledge of Excel
