Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be partnering with a successful, fast-growing owner-managed business with revenues exceeding £100m to recruit a Financial Controller.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an ambitious ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant looking to accelerate their career within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Whether you've gained a few years' post-qualified industry experience or you're a commercially minded first-time mover from practice, this role offers exceptional exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence key business decisions from day one. The business is experiencing continued growth and is seeking a proactive finance professional who enjoys operating at pace, partnering with stakeholders and using financial insight to drive performance.
Your New Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls and supporting commercial decision-making across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Delivering insightful variance analysis and financial commentary.
- Ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
- Business partnering with operational and senior stakeholders.
- Identifying commercial opportunities, risks and performance drivers.
- Driving improvements in financial processes, systems and reporting.
- Supporting strategic growth initiatives and business projects.
- Liaising with auditors and external advisors.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Either recently qualified with proven commercial awareness and looking to make your first move from practice, or already operating in industry in a Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant or similar role.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Commercially minded with the confidence to engage and challenge stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems' aptitude.
- A proactive, ambitious approach and desire to progress your career.
