This is your opportunity to combine strategic influence, transformation delivery, and operational excellence in a role with real visibility and clear progression. You will partner closely with the Finance Director and senior stakeholders while leading a major SAP S/4HANA implementation that will shape how we work for years to come.
What You'll Do
- Own financial control and reporting across management, group, and statutory reporting for a portfolio of infrastructure assets
- Lead finance engagement in the SAP S/4HANA transformation (Project GET), acting as Controlling Super Key User across design, testing, and go-live
- Oversee outputs from shared service finance teams, reviewing, challenging, and approving all financials to ensure a true and fair view
- Act as the key contact for external auditors and lead statutory reporting oversight with robust technical judgement
- Own the internal control environment, lead the annual INCOME campaign, and support Board and Audit Committee governance
- Manage relationships with UK shared services and ENGIE's Global Business Unit finance team, ensuring high-quality delivery
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning while deputising for the Finance Director when required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
