Job Description: Finance Leader
This is a transformation opportunity within a dynamic, high-growth business and leadership team.
We are looking for a high-performance finance leader with strong technical foundations, a systems-thinking mindset and the ambition to grow into a broader leadership role as the business scales.
You will own the day-to-day finance function, develop the finance team, improve systems and reporting, and provide commercial insight that supports better decisions. You will work closely with the CFO, COO and CEO to strengthen controls, improve financial visibility and drive efficiencies through better processes, technology, automation and AI.
The Opportunity
We are looking for someone who enjoys building finance functions, not simply maintaining them. The right person will combine hands-on accounting discipline with the ability to think commercially, improve systems, simplify complexity and create scalable processes.
You will ensure the finance department runs efficiently, produce clean and reliable accounts, deliver meaningful management information and provide the insight needed to support a growing, complex service-based business.
Experience in high-growth, high-transaction or operationally complex environments will be highly relevant. You will also play an important role in Board reporting and corporate activity, including borrowing, fundraising, equity investment, private equity or M&A processes. Transaction, exit, data room or deal-support experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations
- Lead the day-to-day running of the finance department.
- Manage, coach and develop the finance team.
- Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and controls.
- Oversee month-end, year-end and payroll oversight, including payroll accuracy, pensions, PAYE and statutory submissions.
- Ensure supplier payments, customer receipts and cash management are well controlled.
- Improve finance systems, reporting structures and operating processes so the function is scalable and accurate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
