Financial Controller
We’re looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to join the team at Bionical Health.
This isn’t a role where you’ll sit quietly behind a spreadsheet. You’ll be right at the heart of the Finance team, keeping a close eye on cash, making sure the balance sheet is rock solid, overseeing the day-to-day finance operation and giving the business the financial insight it needs to make good decisions.
You’ll manage and develop an Accounts Assistant and take ownership across AP, AR, expenses and payroll, while working closely with our CFO and stakeholders across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the balance sheet, including monthly reconciliations and understanding what’s driving movements
- Keep a close eye on cash, leading cash flow forecasting and group cash management
- Oversee AP, AR, expenses and payroll, making sure things happen accurately and on time
- Take ownership of our general ledgers and financial controls
- Produce clear, useful monthly Board reporting across the balance sheet and cash flow
- Manage and develop an Accounts Assistant
- Act as our key finance contact for banking and invoice factoring
- Manage quarterly VAT reporting
- Lead the annual audit and statutory accounts process, working within UK GAAP
- Oversee corporation tax calculations and submissions through our tax advisers
- Work with external partners including auditors, payroll providers, banks and software suppliers
- Get involved in ESG data and wider business initiatives
- Constantly look for ways we can make our finance processes simpler, smarter and more effective

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA, ideally with at least 2 to 3 years’ post-qualified experience.
But qualifications are only part of it.

You’ll also bring advanced Excel skills, a good working knowledge of HMRC requirements and experience managing external finance partners.
