Financial Controller Technology
£85,000 plus bonus plus LTIP (to be defined)
Based in central London, my client is a Private Equity Backed Technology group with an exciting and market leading product and is looking for a Financial Controller. The role reports to the CFO and will allow her time to focus on acquisitions and investor relations.
The Financial Controller will take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and month-end close for the SaaS business. Operating as the operational right-hand to the CFO you will ensure the financial integrity of the company, scale accounting processes, manage subscription-based revenue recognition (e.g., ASC 606 / IFRS 15), and track core SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, gross margins)
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Month-End Close
- Own and manage the end-to-end accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Deliver an accurate, structured, and fast month-end close (targeting Day 5) with complete balance sheet reconciliations (bank, deferred revenue, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany).
- Oversee and optimize the financial ledger
SaaS Revenue Recognition & Billing Compliance
- Manage subscription revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP/IFRS standards (e.g., deferred and unbilled revenue schedules).
- Partner with Customer Success and Sales operations to ensure billing, invoicing, and contract terms align with recognized revenue.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
