Financial Controller
£65,000 plus benefits | Tamworth, Staffordshire
I'm working with a market leading manufacturer on the appointment of a Financial Controller for its Tamworth site. The business is part of a large group, one that takes a long term view and is investing in its UK growth.
This is the senior finance role on site. You'll lead the function, partner the site leadership team on strategy and profitability, and be the key link into divisional and group finance.
The opportunity
- A seat at the table. You'll sit on the site Senior Leadership Team, shaping pricing, cost and investment decisions rather than reporting on them after the fact.
- Visibility at divisional level. You'll work closely with the Divisional FD and Divisional Board, building your profile across the wider group.
- Room to make your mark. The business wants someone to challenge the control environment, sharpen forecasting and turn reporting into real commercial insight.

What you'll own
- The full month end, forecast and budget cycle, delivered to divisional and group timetables
- Costing and stock, including product, pricing and customer profitability
- P&L and cash flow forecasting, plus the KPIs used by the site and Divisional Board
- Controls, procedures and systems, with a clear remit to challenge and improve them
- Working capital and cash, including oversight of the ledgers
- VAT, year end, group consolidation and tax packs, and the external audit
- Leading and developing the finance team

What you'll bring
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience with a strong track record at a similar level
- Manufacturing experience, ideally with costing and stock
- Experience of group reporting and managing auditors
- Commercial edge and the confidence to challenge senior managers
- Advanced Excel and data skills
- A hands on, approachable leadership style and a genuine interest in developing people
