Financial Controller – Clear Progression to Finance Director

Location: East London

Are you an experienced Financial Controller with a construction background looking for a clear route to Finance Director?

We are working with an established specialist construction group operating across the UK and Europe to recruit a Financial Controller. With ambitious growth plans targeting turnover towards £1 billion, this is an opportunity to join a business where finance will play a central role in supporting its next stage of expansion.

The opportunity

You will take ownership of financial control and reporting across the group, combining hands-on finance leadership with commercial support to the wider business.

A key attraction is the clear progression to Finance Director, with scope to develop your strategic responsibilities as the business grows. This role will suit someone who wants to influence decisions, strengthen the finance function and build a long-term career within construction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
