Company Description

BIPVco is a pioneering UK manufacturer of building-integrated photovoltaic roofing solutions serving commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Located in south Wales, the company operates a dedicated plant that manufactures flexible, lightweight solar modules designed to deliver strong performance while preserving building aesthetics. Its advanced, high-output manufacturing systems are optimized to meet diverse roof system demands while maintaining efficiency and product quality.

The team brings deep expertise in sustainability, PV manufacture, building design, and construction, providing comprehensive support to architects, specifiers, and supply chain partners throughout each project. BIPVco holds ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for designing, developing, and manufacturing thin-film building-integrated photovoltaic systems and has successfully completed the MCS factory accreditation audit.

Role Description

The Financial Controller is a full-time role responsible for overseeing all core finance and accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for the business. This hybrid role is based in Newport, with a combination of on-site work and some work from home.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Managing monthly and annual financial reporting
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Supervising budgeting and forecasting processes

The Financial Controller will maintain robust internal controls, support audits, ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, and provide analytical insight to support strategic decisions. The role also involves partnering with senior leadership on financial planning, improving financial systems and processes, and supporting the broader team with clear, data-driven guidance.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Finance, with demonstrated experience in Financial Reporting and preparing Financial Statements.
  • Solid Accounting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, developing insights, and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency with finance and accounting software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience in manufacturing, renewable energy, or construction sectors is beneficial.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
