An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller
Join a dynamic and diverse international consumer business in London.
This is a broad financial control leadership role, responsible for overseeing a finance team and taking ownership of financial reporting, technical accounting, controls, governance and statutory compliance across multiple entities.
The Role
You will lead the Financial Accounting team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting, a strong control environment and compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and Group accounting policies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, developing and coaching a team of Financial Accountants
- Owning month-end and year-end financial close and reporting
- Reviewing accounting entries, accruals, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations
- Providing technical accounting guidance across IFRS and FRS 102
- Leading external audits and overseeing statutory accounts
- Managing Companies House, HMRC and other regulatory requirements
- Strengthening financial controls, governance and risk management
- Driving process improvement, automation and finance transformation initiatives
- Partnering with Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing on accounting and reporting matters
- Working closely with Group Finance and senior stakeholders on reporting and strategic projects

About You
We are looking for a fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with 3+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained within financial accounting, financial reporting or external audit.

You will ideally have:
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP / FRS 102
- Proven experience managing external audits and statutory reporting
- Previous experience managing, coaching or developing finance professionals
- Strong financial controls and governance experience
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in automation and process enhancement
This would suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys leading a team, partnering with the wider business and improving the way finance operates, rather than a purely reporting-focused position.
