The Role

We have an opportunity for a highly organised and detailed oriented “Financial Crime Analyst” to join our London office on an Apprenticeship basis. Working within the Financial Crime Team, you will be making sure that Langham Hall meets its legal and regulatory obligations to fully identify and understand its clients & their investors. You will be part of the team that defends Langham Hall’s reputation and protects it from being associated with any illicit activity.

Your role will involve assisting with gathering data and documentation as part of our Customer Due Diligence (“CDD”) process, which will also include conducting your own research on clients and investors. This will take place before a client enters a relationship with Langham Hall, so you will be ensuring that the entity is reputable and has no “red flags”. You will do this using information both provided by the client itself, as well as using information that you can locate in the public domain. You will be required to assess all the information and documentation provided to ensure it meets all of the required criteria from both a Langham Hall and regulatory perspective.

The successful candidate does not need to have any experience in carrying out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) CDD on-boarding checks but should have a genuine interest in the subject and a willingness to learn. Initially the Financial Crime Analyst will work with a Financial Crime Senior Associate as part of a team responsible for carrying out AML / CDD on-boarding for the Depositary, Real Estate Fund and Private Equity Fund administration business units of Langham Hall.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
