Financial Crime Business Analyst – 3-Month Contract

About the Role

We are looking for a senior Financial Crime Business Analyst to join a fast-growing, regulated financial services business on an initial 3-month contract. The role will focus on a defined programme of work designed to strengthen financial crime controls, processes and supporting technology.

You will work closely with Compliance, Risk, Product, Engineering and Operations teams, translating regulatory and business requirements into practical, well-defined change. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can operate independently, navigate ambiguity and make an immediate impact without a lengthy onboarding period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, challenge and document requirements from Compliance, Risk, Product, Engineering and Operations stakeholders across financial crime controls, KYB/KYC onboarding, data and operational processes.
  • Assess and document current-state processes and functionality, identifying control, regulatory and process gaps.
  • Develop clear future-state requirements and specifications for Product and Engineering teams, supporting delivery through to implementation.
  • Help design and introduce enhanced financial crime controls, workflows, data structures and monitoring capabilities.
  • Produce high-quality, audit-ready documentation suitable for internal governance and regulatory review.
  • Work with key stakeholders to prioritise and sequence change, balancing regulatory requirements against available delivery capacity.
  • Support system testing, validation and quality assurance ahead of new functionality going live.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on financial crime change, providing challenge and practical recommendations throughout the project.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
