L3 Role - Financial Crime (CDD) Technology and MI Manager

UK&I Risk Management | Perm Contract | Newcastle Based (2 fixed office days weekly)

Role purpose

This manager-level role will lead the CDD Team's technology, automation and management information agenda, translating operational priorities into practical, controlled and scalable solutions. The role will take end-to-end ownership of key initiatives, including new technology roll-outs, AI and Copilot agents, Power BI dashboards and Power Automate workflows, while providing visible leadership and direction across delivery teams and stakeholder groups.

Within the professional services environment, the application of risk management procedures is fundamental to the successful delivery of client services and the promotion of the firm's brand.

At Ernst & Young (EY), Risk Managers promote and support risk management within the business. Risk Management aims to uphold business standards, maintain and enhance the value of the firm, and support compliance with external regulatory requirements and EY Global policies relating to the conduct of business.

Financial crime risks relating to anti-money laundering, terrorist financing, anti-bribery controls, sanctions compliance and fraud remain a high priority for regulated businesses. The centralised Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team supports financial crime compliance in relation to client acceptance procedures.

The opportunity

There is an opportunity for a Manager to join the CDD Team's in-house technology function. Reporting to the Technology Senior Manager, the successful candidate will provide leadership across the CDD technology and MI portfolio, drive priority initiatives forward and ensure new solutions deliver measurable operational value. The role will work closely with CDD Operations, Risk Management stakeholders, technology teams and developers to shape requirements, manage delivery, control implementation risk and embed sustainable ways of working.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will be expected both to set direction and to build solutions, including Power BI dashboards, Copilot custom agents and Power Automate flows. Strong data analysis capability and the confidence to turn complex operational information into clear insights and decisions are essential.

Your key responsibilities

  • Technology and innovation leadership: Own and drive the CDD technology, automation and MI roadmap, converting strategic priorities and operational pain points into a clear, prioritised delivery plan with defined outcomes, dependencies and ownership.
  • Initiative delivery and accountability: Lead initiatives from discovery through design, build, testing, deployment, adoption and benefits realisation. Maintain momentum, resolve blockers, manage risks and dependencies, and provide clear progress reporting and escalation where required.
  • AI and Copilot agent ownership: Identify suitable use cases for AI-enabled support and take end-to-end ownership of the design, creation, testing, governance, roll-out and continuous improvement of Copilot custom agents and related agentic solutions.
  • New technology roll-outs: Lead controlled deployment of new technology across CDD Operations, including operational impact assessments, implementation planning, stakeholder readiness, user acceptance testing, defect management, communications, training and post-implementation support.
  • Power BI dashboard development: Design and build new Power BI dashboards from the ground up, and lead the ongoing development of the existing dashboard suite. Ensure dashboards provide reliable, intuitive and decision-useful insight for operational leaders and senior stakeholders.
  • Management information and insight: Own the production and evolution of weekly, monthly and quarterly MI. Move reporting beyond data collation by identifying trends, root causes, risks, capacity pressures and opportunities for operational improvement, supported by clear commentary and recommendations.
  • Data analysis and quality: Interrogate and reconcile data from multiple sources, define appropriate measures and controls, identify data-quality issues and work with relevant owners to improve the completeness, accuracy and consistency of operational information.
  • Power Automate solutions: Design, build, document and maintain Power Automate flows that reduce manual effort and improve control, integrating workflows with tools such as Outlook, Teams, Excel and relevant operational systems.
  • Product ownership: Act as product owner for relevant CDD technology, including Enate where applicable. Set priorities, maintain requirements and enhancement backlogs, represent operational needs and ensure changes are aligned to process and control requirements.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Build strong relationships across CDD, Financial Crime, Risk Management, Service Lines and technology teams. Chair working groups, influence priorities, challenge constructively and communicate complex technical matters in a clear, practical way.
  • Team leadership and capability building: Oversee junior team member(s), providing clear direction, regular coaching and day-to-day support. Delegate work effectively in line with team objectives, individual capability and development needs; monitor delivery and quality; provide constructive feedback; and create targeted opportunities to upskill colleagues across data analysis, Power BI, automation, Copilot agents and responsible use of AI.
  • Governance and controls: Establish appropriate governance, documentation, testing evidence, access controls, change control and ongoing monitoring for dashboards, automations, AI agents and other technology solutions.
  • Continuous improvement: Proactively scan the operational and technology landscape, develop evidence-based recommendations and sponsor improvements that strengthen quality, efficiency, user experience and management oversight.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
