Your role:
Financial Crime Manager – Ethical Governance
With global reach and a commitment to excellence, the Financial Crime Ethical Governance (“FCEG”) team helps our clients navigate a complex regulatory and legal landscape. Joining our Risk and Compliance team means being at the heart of our commitment to integrity and professional ethics. FCEG is responsible for the following topics:
- Fraud
- Bribery
- Whistleblowing
- Personal transactions
- Gifts and hospitality
- Market abuse
- Conflict of interests
- Code of conduct
We are looking for a manager to lead our global fraud and anti-bribery & corruption (ABC) agenda and contribute to the group-wide Financial Crime & Ethical Governance framework.
This is a subject-matter expert role, responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the fraud and ABC control environment. You will be the subject-matter expert on fraud risk and ABC, translating a fast-moving legislative landscape — into practical controls that work for the entities of Alter Domus.
Your responsibilities:
- Own the fraud risk assessment: design, delivery, and annual refresh across business lines and client-facing processes.
- Embed the "reasonable fraud prevention procedures" and evidence their adequacy for internal and external scrutiny.
- Design and monitor preventive and detective controls, including payment fraud, impersonation and social engineering, invoice fraud, and internal fraud typologies.
- Oversee and provide expert guidance on fraud investigations; support triage, evidence handling, escalations, interviews, reporting, and lessons learned.
- Act as the reference point for ABC, ensuring compliance with the Bribery Act 2010 and, where applicable, the FCPA, Sapin II, and equivalent regimes.
- Operate and continuously improve the gifts & hospitality and conflicts of interest frameworks locally: registers, thresholds, approvals, escalation, and challenge.
- Set and maintain the ABC third-party and intermediary due diligence framework; provide oversight and challenge of 1LoD execution, including red-flag escalation and contractual standards.
- Provides methodology, guidance and second-line challenge on corruption risk in new business, new jurisdictions, and third parties.
- Produce meaningful MI: KPIs, KRIs, thematic reviews, and trend analysis.
- Prepare papers and updates for boards and risk committees.
- Support the second-line monitoring plan: control testing, thematic reviews, issue tracking, and remediation follow-up.
- Contribute to the whistleblowing and speak-up framework, including case handling and root-cause analysis.
- Design and deliver targeted training for staff, senior management, and boards — practical, scenario-based, and role-specific.
- Act as a trusted adviser to the business on fraud and ABC risk in commercial decisions, without losing second-line independence.
- Represent the group-wide FCEG projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of group frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
