Financial Crime Manager

We are seeking an experienced Financial Crime Manager to support the delivery of the accountabilities and core activities of the Financial Crime Operations Manager and ultimately the Head of Financial Crime. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and financial crime operations, along with proven experience leading and developing teams of investigators and analysts. You will have a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and financial crime risk, combined with the ability to make sound, risk-based decisions and provide clear recommendations.

  • Regulatory and Risk Awareness

    • Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks and financial crime risk
    • Drive compliance with internal policies and externally mandated standards
  • Stakeholder Support

    • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for AML, CTF, and financial crime operations
    • Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations, Treating Customers Fairly principles, and internal policies
    • Support the wider business in mitigating financial crime risks across:
      • Credit cards
      • Mortgages
      • Savings
      • Current accounts
      • Business and corporate products
      • Investments

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in financial crime operations, with proven leadership of investigator/analyst teams
  • Deep knowledge of AML/CTF, regulatory frameworks, and financial crime-specific risks
  • Strong ability to coach, mentor, and manage team performance
  • A broad understanding of diverse financial products and services

Working Arrangements

We are open to flexible working to help you perform at your best:

  • Working hours: 28–35 hours per week
  • Hybrid work model: Preferred wherever possible, with office availability primarily for collaboration and problem-solving
  • Nearest regional hub: Assignments will be based in either our Glasgow or Gosforth hub.
    • Regular in-person collaboration events (quarterly) are anticipated.
  • Nationwide prioritises internal redeployment candidates in this recruitment process.
