Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You’ll work with clients across payments, fintech, digital assets, and more traditional financial services. Experience with Annex I firms would be particularly valuable.
This is not a traditional sales role, and you won’t be expected to originate business through cold outreach. Commercial awareness is important, however: you should be able to identify opportunities, deliver work that leads to repeat engagements, and confidently represent the consultancy at industry events.
About You
You’ll ideally bring:
- Recent financial crime experience gained within a consultancy or financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of UK money laundering regulations and the ability to apply them to different business models
- Experience managing projects from start to finish
- Exposure to developing or supporting junior colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to build credible, trusted relationships with senior clients
- A practical, risk-based, and commercially aware approach
- The ability to manage several priorities and work effectively under pressure

Consultancy experience is preferred. You may already be operating at Manager level, or you could be a Senior Consultant who has not yet had the opportunity to step up.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude: curious, collaborative, and willing to roll up their sleeves. You’ll take ownership of problems, work out the answer when it isn’t immediately obvious, and remain adaptable as regulations and client needs evolve.
