Role: Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) Specialist – Financial Crime
Location: Manchester or Glasgow, office based 3 days per week, the rest remote
Start: ASAP
Contract Duration: Full time role (Monday to Friday) 6 months initially (inside IR35)

About the Role
Deloitte Operations are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) professional with a strong background in financial crime to join a leading large bank. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working within retail or corporate banking environments, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met in financial crime prevention and detection processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct thorough QA/QC reviews of financial crime processes, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer due diligence.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention, and other financial crime controls.
- Identify gaps or weaknesses in controls and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with business units, compliance, and risk teams to support remediation activities and process enhancements.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation on QA/QC findings and present insights to senior stakeholders.
- Support audit activities and regulatory inspections by providing evidence of quality control measures.

Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Proven experience in QA or QC roles within financial crime functions, preferably in a large banking environment.
- Strong understanding of retail and/or corporate banking operations related to financial crime risk.
- In-depth knowledge of AML regulations, sanctions, fraud detection, and financial crime frameworks.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify control weaknesses.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders and present findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or equivalent.
- Experience working within large multinational banks or financial institutions.
- Familiarity with financial crime technology platforms and data analytics tools.
