About the role

The shift pattern for this role is Monday-Friday 14:45-22:15

There will be occasional in-person Team days in either Bolton or Speke

This role plays an important part in protecting The Very Group from the risks associated with money laundering, fraud and wider financial crime. You’ll contribute to ensuring we continue to operate safely, responsibly and in the best interests of our customers and the business.

In this position, you’ll review and investigate suspicious transactions, manage alerts with a high level of care and accuracy and make well reasoned decisions that support the integrity of our financial systems. You’ll also work collaboratively with internal teams and law enforcement partners, providing clear and timely information to support ongoing investigations.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally inquisitive, calm under pressure and motivated by work that has real purpose. If you take pride in thorough analysis, sound judgement and doing the right thing, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution in a specialist area.

Key responsibilities

  • Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts, assessing any activity that meets AML or Counter‑Terrorist Financing criteria.
  • Raise and accurately report Suspicious Activity (SARs) and support any follow‑up investigations before submission to the National Crime Agency.
  • Keep up to date with AML, POCA, CTF and JMLSG guidance and apply it confidently.
  • Respond to law‑enforcement enquiries promptly, ensuring GDPR requirements are met every time.
  • Analyse patterns, trends and unusual customer behaviour to identify fraud risks, prevent financial loss and reduce regulatory exposure.
  • Act as a point of reference for colleagues and stakeholders on financial crime detection and prevention.
  • Screen alerts for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), UN Sanctions and SIPs, using tools and investigation techniques to verify identity and highlight any Adverse Media.
  • Complete regular Enhanced Due Diligence checks on PEPs, RCAs and SIPs retained by the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
