We're looking for a Financial Crime Specialist to join our growing Financial Crime team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape and influence the financial crime framework across our investment platform, pensions and investment management businesses.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Financial Crime, you'll act as the financial crime lead for investment management activities, helping to identify, assess and manage financial crime risks while providing practical support and challenge to the business.
This is a hands-on, business-facing role where you'll work closely with investment, platform, pensions, operations, compliance and risk teams to protect our clients, our business and our reputation.
As Financial Crime Specialist, you'll support the development and operation of the financial crime framework across our platform, pension and investment management businesses.
You'll provide expert guidance on AML, sanctions, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, fraud prevention and financial crime risks associated with investment products, funds, portfolios and client activity.
You'll also play an important role in risk assessments, monitoring activity, governance reporting, training and continuous improvement of financial crime controls.
What you'll do
- Act as a financial crime subject matter expert across investment management, funds, pensions and platform activities.
- Review and assess financial crime cases, referrals and escalations involving clients, investment accounts, pension arrangements and higher-risk relationships.

- Assist with financial crime risk assessments, control reviews and assurance activities.
- Produce clear management information, governance reporting and regulatory submissions.
- Deliver practical advice and challenge to business stakeholders on financial crime risks and controls.
- Support training, awareness and education initiatives across the business.
- Identify emerging risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Help maintain policies, procedures and guidance to support consistent application of financial crime controls.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on processes and controls.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
