An Excellent Senior Finance Leadership Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and commercially focused Finance Director to join a well-established, ambitious and growing, private equity-backed business.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial performance, developing the finance function and supporting the continued growth and strategic development of the business.
This is a highly visible senior leadership position requiring a proactive, hands-on Finance Director who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and the confidence to challenge, influence and support operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of Group financial reporting, management information, consolidation and financial performance analysis.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and working capital optimisation.
- Provide meaningful financial insight and commercial support to the CFO, senior leadership team, board and investors.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance, compliance and reporting processes.
- Work closely with operational leadership to improve profitability, margins, cost control and cash conversion.
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes and reporting efficiency.
- Support strategic initiatives, business acquisitions, due diligence and future growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with auditors, banks and external advisers.

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced, commercially astute and results-driven finance professional who can demonstrate:
- Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally gained within construction, building services, facilities management or a similar contract-based environment.
- Strong experience of long-term contract accounting and Group consolidation, both of which are essential.
- Proven responsibility for P&L, balance sheet, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
- Experience of working with senior leadership teams, boards and ideally private equity investors.
- A track record of improving financial performance, strengthening controls and supporting profitable business growth.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A confident, collaborative and proactive leadership style, with the ability to constructively challenge and influence decisions.
- Exposure to acquisitions, integration or M&A activity would be advantageous.

Applicants should be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience and a strong academic background.
