A highly respected professional services business is seeking an accomplished Finance Director to join its executive leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the organisation.

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to step into a strategic role that combines executive influence, business partnering, and operational leadership. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and sitting on the senior leadership team, the successful individual will lead the finance function while supporting the delivery of ambitious growth plans across the wider business.

The organisation has undergone significant transformation in recent years, investing heavily in finance systems, business partnering capabilities, and management information. As a result, finance has evolved into a highly valued commercial function. The next phase of the journey is focused on simplifying complex financial information, increasing commercial awareness across the business, embedding profitability-led decision making, and leveraging technology, automation, and AI to drive further efficiency and insight.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
