Finance Director | Fintech / FCA-Regulated

We’re working with a high-growth, VC-backed business to find a Finance Director to lead and build its finance function through the next stage of growth.
This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with the CEO, Board and investors. We’re particularly interested in people who have worked within an FCA-regulated environment and understand the additional financial control, reporting and governance requirements that come with it.
Fintech experience is also highly preferred, particularly within payments, lending or other regulated financial services.
The role
You’ll take ownership of the finance function end-to-end, combining strategic leadership with a willingness to get into the detail when needed.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
- Owning management reporting, KPIs and Board/investor reporting
- Partnering with the CEO on strategy, pricing, unit economics and funding
- Managing cash, liquidity and working capital
- Developing a robust financial control environment suitable for an FCA-regulated business
- Supporting regulatory reporting and information requests
- Overseeing audit, year-end, tax and statutory reporting
- Supporting future equity and debt fundraising
- Improving finance systems, processes, data and automation
- Building out the finance function as the business grows

What we’re looking for
FCA-regulated experience is important for this hire.
You’ll ideally have:
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within an FCA-regulated business
- Fintech experience, ideally across payments, lending or a related area
- Strong financial control, reporting and planning experience
- Experience working in a scaling, entrepreneurial business
- Confidence working with CEOs/founders, Boards and investors
- Exposure to regulators, auditors, banking partners and external advisers
- Experience supporting fundraising would be highly useful
- A commercial mindset alongside strong technical finance fundamentals
