Finance Director (Client of BKL)
Location: Marylebone | Hybrid working | Full-time
We are working with a long-standing and valued client to appoint a hands-on Finance Director to lead their finance function. The Group comprises over 10 family-owned entities, operating across PFI infrastructure, financial investments, and real estate. With a combined turnover of approximately £11m, the group generates income from a range of residual PFI contracts and other interests, supporting a final salary pension scheme within the Group.
This is a senior role with broad exposure, but it remains very much hands-on. You will be the most senior finance professional in the business, working closely with the owners and pension fund Trustees, supported by a small remote back-office team.

The current Finance Director has been with the business for a significant period and will be retiring in December. As a result, our client is keen to appoint someone with sufficient time to allow for a thorough and effective handover.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading all financial and tax matters across the Group
- Producing the data for the preparation of the annual Group accounts and quarterly NAV reporting
- Overseeing the PFI project income and contract matters
- Delivering group financial modelling and reporting for pension trustees
- Managing VAT submissions and compliance
- Managing the data for the preparation of corporation tax returns
- Overseeing a small remote team, including elements of HR, document management, and third-party IT support
- Managing the reporting and compliance for the Group’s final salary pension scheme

Candidate profile:
- Qualified accountant with a degree, ideally trained in practice
- Approximately 10+ years’ post-qualified experience
- Experience in owner-managed or family-run environments
- Exposure to PFI infrastructure or similarly complex group structures
- Strong understanding of pensions reporting would be advantageous
- Motivated by adding value through experience and expertise, rather than seeking a highly progressive or corporate career path
Experience with Yardi would be beneficial
