Director of Finance | £80-100k + Car Allowance/Car | East Lancashire (hybrid) | Permanent
The Role
Our client is a growing, internationally operating business based in East Lancashire, providing specialist solutions to a diverse range of corporate clients. The business operates in a fast-paced environment, combining technology with service delivery to coordinate complex, time-critical requirements across multiple locations.
With an established presence in its sector and continued opportunities for growth, the organisation offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic business where finance plays an important role in supporting operational performance and future development. We are supporting them on an exclusive basis to find their next finance leader who will become a crucial part of their SLT.
Reporting to the Group Director of Finance, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Finance department, leading a team of senior finance managers and ensuring finance operates as a proactive business partner across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to senior finance leaders, developing talent, succession plans and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely group consolidation across all entities.
- Review management accounts, KPIs and financial performance, providing clear commentary and actionable business insight.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and long-term planning to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring balance sheet integrity, effective reconciliations and adherence to accounting standards and corporate policies.
- Oversee statutory reporting, taxation, regulatory compliance and financial governance across the Group.
- Manage external audit planning and delivery, ensuring recommendations are addressed and maintaining effective relationships with auditors and other external stakeholders.
- Provide financial leadership on strategic projects, business transformation, acquisitions, integrations and other change initiatives.
- Oversee treasury, cash management and working capital performance, identifying opportunities to improve cash flow and financial efficiency.
- Monitor financial risks, profitability and operational performance, providing constructive challenge and recommendations for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, systems, reporting quality and operational efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with Executive Leadership Team members and operational and commercial stakeholders, acting as a trusted financial adviser.
- Promote financial awareness and commercial understanding across the business, supporting informed decision-making at all levels.
- Act as the primary finance liaison with Group finance teams, supporting the Group Director of Finance on key initiatives and deputising where required.

What We’re Looking For
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant senior finance leadership experience, including leading large finance teams and developing senior finance leaders.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, group consolidation, financial control, governance, statutory reporting and external audits.
- Proven commercial and operational finance capability, including budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash management and financial modelling.
- Experience supporting strategic projects, business transformation, organisational growth and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside Executive Leadership Teams and Board-level stakeholders.
- Experience within multi-entity, international or service-led organisations is advantageous.
- The role is subject to a DBS check and may require travel across Europe.

- Salary: £80,000 - £100,000
- Annual car allowance of £6000 or company car
- Annual bonus based on company performance (5-10%)
