Finance Director
Location: Hybrid - Midlands, UK (with National and occasional International travel)
Salary: circa £95,000 + benefits
Peak Talent Partners are supporting an established and growing Global business in appointing a Finance Director at an exciting point in its development.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded Finance Director who wants to be close to the business, influence decision-making and play a genuine role in driving growth. There is significant change ahead, including organisational restructuring, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys transformation, change and building strong relationships across a business.
This is not a purely technical finance role. The successful candidate will be a visible and influential business partner, working closely with the Managing Director, senior leadership team and Operations.
The Opportunity
You will take overall responsibility for the UK finance function, leading a team and providing both strategic and operational financial leadership.
A key part of the role will be bringing a stronger commercial focus to Finance, ensuring financial insight actively supports growth, profitability and business performance.
You will be involved in:
- Commercial finance and business partnering
- New business wins, tenders and bids
- Contract renewals and negotiations
- Financial planning, forecasting and budgeting
- Performance analysis and management reporting
- Supporting strategic business decisions
- Organisational restructuring and transformation
- Improving collaboration between Finance and Operations
- Driving financial performance, profitability and efficiency
- Strengthening financial controls, governance and processes
- Leading, developing and supporting a team
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the wider organisation

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a broad and commercially astute Finance Director rather than someone who specialises in just one area of finance. You may currently be a Finance Director, Financial Controller, Head of Finance or senior finance leader ready to step into a broader FD role.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong technical accounting and finance experience
- Proven senior finance leadership experience
- Strong commercial awareness and business partnering capability
- Experience working closely with Operations
- Experience leading and developing teams
- A track record of supporting business growth and improving performance
- Experience of change, transformation or restructuring
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
