Finance Director, PE-Backed Manufacturing Business, Manchester

£150,000 to £175,000 plus package

We're working with a Private Equity backed manufacturing business in Manchester at a pivotal point in its growth story. Transformation, operational improvement, growth and M&A are all live at once, and they need an FD who can stand next to the Group CFO and drive it.

PE backed experience is essential for this one. You'll know the pace this demands, and the value of an FD who's as comfortable on the shop floor as they are challenging the board.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partner the Group CFO on strategy, performance and the calls that matter
  • Lead a significant finance and business transformation agenda
  • Sharpen reporting, forecasting and controls across the manufacturing operation
  • Bring commercial and operational insight into decisions, from the boardroom to the shop floor
  • Find the margin, cash and working capital gains that move the dial
  • Build and lead a finance function that can support serious growth
  • Work closely with the PE investor and board
  • Support M&A, from evaluation through to integration
  • Help put in place the infrastructure and discipline the business needs for its next stage

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
