We are searching for an exceptional Finance Director to join a Private Equity-backed manufacturing business at a pivotal stage of its development.
This is not a steady-state Finance Director position.
The business has an ambitious agenda encompassing transformation, operational improvement, growth and M&A, and we need an FD capable of playing a central role in delivering it.
Working closely with the CEO as a genuine number two, you’ll combine strategic and commercial leadership with the ability to get under the skin of the operational and financial performance of the business.
The mandate is clear: improve performance, create value and help build a better business.
The opportunity:
- Partner the CEO on strategy, performance and key commercial decisions
- Lead a significant finance and business transformation agenda
- Drive improvements in reporting, forecasting, controls and financial visibility
- Bring greater commercial and operational insight to decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve margin, cash, working capital and overall performance
- Build, develop and lead a high-performing finance function
- Work closely with the Private Equity investor and Board
- Support M&A activity, including evaluation, due diligence and integration
- Help create the infrastructure and disciplines required to support future growth and value creation

We’re particularly interested in Finance Directors who have operated within PE-backed manufacturing or industrial businesses and understand the pace, expectations and performance focus that come with Private Equity ownership.

Previous exposure to M&A and post-acquisition integration would be particularly valuable.
You’ll need to be equally credible in the boardroom and on the shop floor, someone who can challenge the CEO one minute, interrogate operational performance the next and then ensure the business actually delivers the required change.
This is a substantial opportunity for a commercially minded, transformational Finance Director who wants to have a genuine influence on the direction and value of a business.
